Richard Ong, a Malaysian aged 35, is the CMO of the Aquagrow Group. He is responsible for sales and marketing operations, branding, and trading of all live, fresh and frozen fish of the Group. He is also in charge of quality control of a third party contract processing plant.
He brings with him more than 10 years of wide experience in seafood manufacturing, aquaculture, and sales and marketing in the US and Europe markets.
Richard began his career in value added seafood processing in 2003 to oversee production operations and quality improvement for BRC, Yum’s and HACCP. He was then managing a team of technical, production and administrative personnel for implementation and successful certification of ISO 9001 in a beverage company. He continued his career with a US multinational company that specialised in producing animal feed. It was there that he acquired a considerable experience and exposure in aquaculture businesses in ASEAN country as the Seafood Supply Chain Manager.
Richard has various operational and quality control experiences in seafood. His last attachment was Trapia Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a Norwegian owned company that has an integrated value chain operation producing freshwater Tilapia for the local and export markets. From 2010 to 2014, he held the position of Factory Manager with Trapia Malaysia Sdn Bhd for supervision of all phases of plant operations and the Sales & Marketing to the US and European markets until he joins Aquagrow Corporation in July 2014.
Richard holds a Bachelor Degree of Food Technology and Bioprocess with minor in Business and Marketing from University Malaysia Sabah.
